One more step toward peace of mind.
Avoid head-to-head contact, and avoid sharing clothes, towels, hats, scarves, hair accessories, brushes, combs, and other personal items.
Personal items stay personal.Wash clothes, towels, and bedding used in the last two days in hot water — 60°C if the fabric allows — and dry on high heat. Store items that can't be washed or dry-cleaned in a well-sealed bag for two weeks.
Check the fabric care label.Soak combs and brushes in hot water (at least 54°C) for 5–10 minutes. For hair ties, clips, and other accessories, match the cleaning method to the material.
Hot water is handled by an adult.Vacuum sofas, car seats, and other surfaces. Dispose of the collected contents in the trash.
Ordinary, careful cleaning is enough.Check the scalp and hair of every family member after the treatment. Use a metal nit comb regularly to check and comb through. If you use a repellent product, follow its instructions — it does not replace checking the hair.
If in doubt, contact one of our centers.A repeat check is needed after about 7 days to confirm the treatment succeeded. Without this check, the procedure's effectiveness cannot be guaranteed.
Please notify the center at least 6 hours in advance. Otherwise you'll lose the right to a free check.
Adult lice usually don't survive more than 1–2 days off the scalp. However, that doesn't mean 48 hours is enough for every potentially infested item. For items that can't be washed or dry-cleaned, follow the two-week rule in a sealed bag.
